The Find My feature lets you locate, lock, or erase your Mac remotely if itâs lost or stolen.
Open System Settings
On macOS Ventura or later, click the Apple menu  > System Settings.
On older macOS versions, go to System Preferences.
Click on Your Apple ID (at the top of the sidebar).
Make sure you’re signed in with your iCloud account.
Select iCloud > Find My Mac
Turn On Find My Mac
Toggle the switch On.
You may be asked to enter your Apple ID password.
Enable “Find My network” (Optional but recommended)
This helps locate your Mac even when itâs offline or in sleep mode using other Apple devices nearby.
Enable Location Services
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
Make sure Location Services is turned On, and Find My is allowed.
2FA adds an extra layer of security to your Apple ID. Even if someone gets your password, they canât access your account without a code sent to one of your trusted devices.
Go to System Settings > Apple ID
Click your name in the sidebar.
Click âPassword & Securityâ
Look for âTwo-Factor Authenticationâ
If it says âOn,â youâre all set.
If it says âOff,â click Turn On.
Add a Trusted Phone Number
Youâll be prompted to add a phone number where youâll receive verification codes (via SMS or call).
Verify Your Number
Enter the code sent to your number to complete setup.
